Why do you keep spreading these lies, When you know he was just an innocent guy? Dear Justice system, Why do you hate us and the color of our skin? Will a black man ever get the chance to win? Or will he forever be seen as a target? A suspect? A threat? Or a criminal? Dear Justice System, Why do you continue to turn a blind eye? Towards my people that are dead because of your guys The ones that are supposed to serve and protect but instead takes the life of someone by standing on their neck Dear Justice System, why are letting everything my people fought for go down the drain? Don’t you understand our pain? Don’t you think we are tired? Of getting shot, killed and fired? Dear Justice System, why” In this poem Kimberly Cross writes “Dear Justice system, Why do you treat my people like this? Like we are lesser than the average person. Although I am not famous, I know that even one person seeing this can change the world. I believe that anytime I get to talk about the injustice of this world I have to. I am a black person in a world that doesn’t really favor black people. This project was probably my favorite to create because it meant a lot to me. With all this in mind I decided to collage various kinds of flowers with assorted colors. Nature itself is Art I love the way trees grow and how the sky is filled with an endless amount of sunlight, stars and clouds that are all used to show the beauty of this world but, one of the things I love the most about nature is Flowers! The way they smell, the way they look and all the different colors that flowers can be are so lovely and appealing. My second Idea stemmed from my love of nature. At first, I wanted to use three images of unique styles of clothing from three different decades because of my love for fashion but, when trying to create the collage I found some difficulty putting the pictures together and overall, I realized that I did not like the end product as much as I pictured I would, so I went with my second idea. The problem that I faced was what works of art I wanted to use and what theme I wanted my collage to be. For this project I used a mobile app called Pic Monkey which I have used before to edit my pictures. Making collages is something that I have done before so I didn’t have any challenges with finding the right program to use. For this I was asked to take 3 different works of art and make a collage from them and at first, I was stuck because, there is so much art and so many ways you can express them. My First ever DH project was a digital collage.

how would kids fare today without their own laptop/tablet, if all of their classwork for homeschooling is on like google drive/cloud or whatever other open source drive/open source cloud software their school uses? or any other apps that their school might use? obviously we are seeing this play out in real time during the pandemic, world over, where if a child is in a single parent family or if their two parents don’t have adequate enough resources/have been fired or let go from their jobs/juggling working from home and homeschooling then it’s hurting these kids likelihood of doing well with distance learning. how on fucking earth are kids meant to keep up with their class work progression on coding apps or whatever, at home, if they don’t have their own laptop/tablet? ridiculous. and today, kids are learning coding from like year 4 onwards, i think, on apps at school as part of their science & tech studies lesson portion of the day. Hell, for today, i wouldn’t be surprised if foreign language subject faculties in high schools are now using school subscription class accounts or something for duolingo or babbel.
